About Fred R. White Risk Management & Consulting, Inc.

Our Approach

Our practice is project-focused rather than maintenance-focused.  We solve particular problems or provide periodic services to our clients.  That does not mean that we are not, or will not, be there if you need us for something special.  We are.

We do not bill by the hour.  Instead, we, in conjunction with you, determine how and to what extent the requested service will benefit you, the client, and then we charge either a fixed fee or a flat fee plus a performance bonus.

Why Fred R. White Risk Management & Consulting?

We are independent--of large consulting firms, of insurance agents and brokers, of banks. Of everyone. This gives us the flexibility to think outside the box and to use tools and techniques that the others either can't or won't use.

Together we’ll create and refine your plan for success. We didn’t get there alone. And neither will you.

Fred R. White, Principal

Fred R. White, CPCU, ARM, CHP, CBC

I entered the insurance business in 1972, fresh out of Oklahoma State University where I earned a BS degree in Business Administration.  My first job was a sales agent with Allstate.  About a year later, I moved to Maryland Casualty Company as a casualty underwriter in Oklahoma City.

The Chubb Group offered me a casualty underwriting position in Dallas about three and a half years after that.  When I departed Chubb, I was the Southwest Regional Excess/Umbrella manager for a four-state area.

I joined a significant risk management consulting company in Dallas in 1979.  Then I opened my own consulting firm in late 1984.  And that is where I am today.

Over the years, I have developed considerable expertise in risk analysis, risk assessment, and risk treatment.  I am fluent in insurance coverage, insurance placement, self-insurance, captive insurance companies, and non-traditional risk transfer.  I also perform specialty actuarial analyses for self-insurance plans and certain captive insurance companies.    In short--most things risk.

I hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation and the Certified Hedge Fund Professional (CHP) designation with a specialty in portfolio analytics and the Certified Business Counselor designation.

My industry experience includes oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, wholesale distribution, and financial institutions among others.
